The first time you open a map of Seattle, you see Queen Anne, Fremont, South Lake Union (SLU, one of Seattle’s main technology and office districts), Capitol Hill, Bellevue…

To be honest, when you first arrive, it can be difficult to work out where you would actually like to live.

Before looking for housing, you can certainly research safety, commuting, nearby restaurants and schools online. That can help you rule out some clearly unsuitable areas.

But whether a place truly suits you is something you discover by living there for a while. How easy is it to get out each day? Is traffic heavy during the morning and evening rush? Is the neighborhood quiet or lively? A map cannot tell you many of these everyday details.

If you have just moved to Seattle for work, an internship, a visiting academic appointment or a clinical rotation—or simply have not decided where you want to live long term—we would not recommend rushing into a one-year lease immediately.

Staying for 1–3 months first, settling into daily life and then taking your time to find a place that really suits you may be much easier.

For example, if you spend most of your time within Seattle, Queen Anne is a convenient place to start.

We have a Stayoo Suites building with 16 one-bedroom apartments on Dravus Street in Queen Anne, specifically offering furnished stays of 30 days or longer. It offers convenient access to Fremont, SLU and Downtown, while being in a relatively quiet and safe residential neighborhood.

On one side is Queen Anne’s relatively quiet residential neighborhood with a lived-in atmosphere; just to the north is Fremont.

The Fremont Cut canal and waterside paths are also just a few minutes’ walk away. They are pleasant places for a walk or a run, especially in good weather.

Fremont itself is one of Seattle’s characteristic neighborhoods combining everyday life with technology offices. Adobe’s Seattle office is in Fremont.

Getting to SLU, Google’s Seattle office or Downtown Seattle is also convenient.

One of the best things for someone new to Seattle is that you can essentially arrive with your luggage and move straight in.

The apartment is already equipped with:

A private one-bedroom apartment, with no sharing

A private kitchen and bathroom

A queen bed and bedding

A washer and dryer

Pots, pans, dishes, utensils and basic cooking equipment

A coffee maker, with coffee provided too

Space suitable for work or study

Utilities and internet included, without opening each account yourself

Minimum 30-day rental | Month-to-Month | Flexible Term

You do not have to cope with jet lag while running to IKEA for a bed and desk and then to Target for pots and pans. Nor do you have to commit to a one-year lease before you understand which neighborhood you really like.

Settle in first and stay for a month or two.

Once you know where you need to go each day, which roads get congested, whether you prefer quiet or lively surroundings and where you like to spend weekends, decide where to live next.

If you decide this place suits you, you can keep staying. If you find a long-term home that suits you better, you can move on according to your own plans.

In an unfamiliar city, your first home does not have to be the “final answer.” It can instead be somewhere that saves you unnecessary hassle while you gradually get to know the city.

Furnished 1BR

Minimum 30-day rental | Month-to-Month | Flexible Term

Move-in ready | Furniture, kitchen equipment and everyday essentials provided

Suitable for work, internships, visiting academic appointments, clinical rotations and relocation

Many of our residents have come to Seattle for work, internships, clinical rotations or company transfers. They include employees and interns at large technology companies, as well as travel nurses, doctors and other healthcare professionals.

Many stay for several months. They appreciate convenient access to Fremont, SLU and Downtown while retaining the feel of a relatively quiet residential neighborhood.

That is why we prepare the apartments for people who will actually live in them for months, rather than simply providing a bed and furniture. Basic supplies for cooking, laundry, working and everyday life are all provided.

Some designated apartment types also allow dogs, which is convenient for guests moving to Seattle with a pet.

If you need a place, send us a private message with your arrival date and approximately how long you plan to stay. We can help you check availability directly.
